Framing and Conserving a 70's Newspaper page

Here is another custom frame we finished for a Patti Smith newspaper page. We took the little hint of red from the print and added it back into the frame design with a sliver of red in the under mat. With a uv filtering, museum quality glazing we added that extra brilliance for conservation and clarity here at our San Francisco frame shop.

We loved the actual images of the paper. Franz Gertsch took a series of photographs of Patti Smith during her poetry performances in 1977. Here is a link with more about these photos that served for Gertsch as a foundation to paint oversized images of Patti Smith on canvas.
